Why Alex B.'s Desires Are More Important Then His Family's Desires

When comparing my family desires to my own, it is very easy for me to say my desires are more important then theirs. "Why?" people may ask. I know it sounds kind of selfish saying what I want is more important then what my family wants, and it really does. But I'm looking at it as an individual. Why would me, only me, see other people's, even family's, desires more important than mine? It doesn't seem right to focus on desires of our family and at the same time ignoring ours completely. And even if the desires of both ends aren't completely different, our desire is still being ignored some what, and why would we do that. We should live life the way we were intended to, and the only way of figuring out what that is is by following our desires. I've learned not by a single event in my life, but as a whole and seeing how others people's lives can be affected when caring about the family desires above their own. It can be seen on television. There are shows that demonstrate how little kids lives can be when controlled by the desires of the parents. It's not right. My life on the other hand doesn't really contain events that shape my opinion, but it is something that should be learned as one just grows up. If we have freewill we should use it, including when following our own desires if we want to.
